Director's Statement
The theme of this story is grief & finding the
value in when we suffer. I wanted to craft a
film that engaged with grief and the lessons
we're taught from suffering using a
conversation with a married couple. JOE &
His Wife chronicles a moment in the life of
this marriage where a loss was recently
experienced and JOE is seeking to see the
glass as half full but AMARA is unable to
understand his perspective.
I have written a modernized story inspired by
the biblical account of Job. This I believe will
allow the story to really speak for itself and
allow me to sit back and let the Lord lead the
lesson.
This short is being produced in hopes that
more films in the same vain may be funded
and shared with the world. My goal is to have
audiences feeling affected & leaving this film
feeling as if they too have permission to
wonder, wrestle with and ask that one
question…
“Can there be value in suffering?”
